Medicolegal assessments aim to evaluate a person’s physical, psychological and/or functional condition in relation to a legal matter, such as an insurance claim or request for compensation.
Examination and Evaluation: A Step-by-Step Guide
A medico-legal assessment involves the following steps:
- You’ll need to obtain a referral from a lawyer, insurer or government agency (known as the “requesting party”) that outlines the reason for the assessment and any relevant contextual information and documentation.
- Submit your referral to Fly2 Health by clicking the referral form button below – we’ll then contact you to arrange your appointment.
- One of our medicolegal professionals will conduct your assessment.
- Your assessor will prepare a report outlining their findings, presented accurately and fairly, and submit it to the requesting party.
- Your assessor may also be asked to clarify any of their findings and/or to appear in court or at a tribunal as an expert witness.
